Haven't received my free sample yet, but I did see a ton of it last week at one of the LFS in the Bay area.

was the price reasonable Boomer ? And are you thiking of making a change at all or are you gonna go with what's been working for ya ?
I'm thinking that with numbers like these I won't have to dose the two part calcium/alkalinity

I didn't check price. It had just been delivered, and was stacked up in the doorway. All sizes though. I might change, but will have to see some serious test results & user opinions before I commit.

I saw it at petsmart, and they had a 5 gal size for $3, a 25 gal size for about $15, and a 90 gal size for about $25. For the 90 gal size, its pretty reasonable, compared to about $18 for a 50 gal bag of IO, and the 90 gal comes in a plastic container with a screw on lid, to keep it from getting wet. I will probably get some with the #'s coming out like that.

I bought a 90 gallon size at petsmart $26. I have been using IO and made the first water change in the 29g with it yesterday. Thought I would try it a while in the 29g before I use it in the 90g tank. Of course no way I'm seeing a difference yet, but at least there was no sudden die off. I didn't notice that it disolved any better as the label claims, but may just be me.

did you do any testing before adding the mixed salt to your tank SaltySam ? If so what brand of tests did you use and what were the results ?

My LFS is running a special 200g for $39
might have to pick some up as my IO bucket is getting to the bottom.

I'll be interested in the consistency of the product.

The ph of 8.0 seems a little on the low side, other than that it looks pretty good, again time will tell. They could flood the market with a good grade of salt and then skimp on future stock. Naw no one would do that! Time and consistency will tell.

Saltysam!
I haven't received my sample yet either. Price is right but, will wait for further testings before I decide to change over. I have had decent results with IO and would not want to mess with that unless salt proves to be a good choice.
