HI! pretty new here! but from the Chicagoland myself! NW burbs...Crystal Lake...

just wanted to say hey!!!! cant believe there are so many! so cool! i like to go to a small place here by me called birds n beasts... lol.. they have a beautiful collection of corals and ok LR... but the dude is very knowledgeable and is making sure his staff is too... so i like going in there once in a while. the other place i go is Exotic Aquatics off Randall Rd. in Algonquin. love their store.. dont know why... just do. a little pricey, but their selection is getting better and better.

I'm near you in Fox Lake (My parents still live in Crystal Lake )
Check out Oceans Floor it's minutes away from Birds and Beasts on Pyott Rd.
Pat and Paul are cool people though I used to shop there lots when I had birds

You should check out Sharkeys reef. They are an online sponsor of RS plus they have a brick and morter store in Grayslake - not too far from you!

ooooh! i will check it out. do they open at a certain time? cause, exotic doesnt open till noon, and i hate that!! :P and bird n beasy at least is open at 10. just curious as to when they open up.. on a sunday?!!! LOL... gotta check it out! thanks for the heads up!

well i am looking for some LR.. i just got a new 90 Gallon and i want to make some of my own rock.. but mostly want to buy some .. anyone know of anywhere near here that is pretty cheap? birds n neasts is like $8 a pound.. and exotic aquatics id like.. 11 dollars a pound????!!! yeah.. no.. so anyone know of some rock? thanks!!!!

Have you checked oceans floor? Sharkeys closed the store front just after thanksgiving

Reef Plus in North Aurora ( see product reviews ) has some nice Fiji for $7/lb. Liveaquaria has it also Live Rock and Live Sand: Live Saltwater Aquarium Rock and Sand + $1.39 per lb for shipping. I don't think Rod has any, could always call him though http://www.reefsanctuary.com/reviewp...ct/529/cat/all . Did you check The Marketplace here?

i'll look at liveaquaria again... didnt really want to ship, was looking for something local i could pick up... ill try oceans floor....thanks!!!!
