| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Chicagoland Reefers So far my experience has been on what not to do. The 90 however I hope to turn into a fabulous habitat for the ponies I will be buying. I am however taking this one very slowly. So far it is water, LR, sand, and skimmer. The next and most important step will be when we hook up the chiller. I need to prove to myself that I can maintain the proper temp before I will even attempt another pony. It is just entirely too sad when you lose one particularly since the loss of several of mine have been to slow deaths. Truly painful to watch an animal struggle like that.

| Beautiful Katamari | Re: Chicagoland Reefers I live about a block from where Chicago Aquarium and Pond used to be on Clark Street on the North Side of the City. Unfortunately They closed not long after I got into SW. The other day I was walking on Clark Street and just a quarter block north of where they used to be located there is a storefront with the windows papered over and a sign that says "Chicago Aquarium coming soon" The door was open and they were building the wooden frame for stands. I dont know when they will open but I will keep you posted.

| Torch coral | Re: Chicagoland Reefers I also have a Tunze 7240.27 w/7091 single controller and magnet holder for sale $270 by itself or the 135g and Tunze for $500.00. Tunze has some coralline on it but I will clean it off, it works great. I have had it about a year, purchased from a reef central member. I am looking to buy a VorTech. Will deliver for free within 30 miles of Lake Zurich. Thanks Debbie

| Golden Moray | Re: Chicagoland Reefers I know this an older thread but hey, people can still read! I live in central Kane co. Reef plus on Randal rd. is my main fish store. Prices are fare, most staff knows about what there selling and he can order many things at low prices. Rods reef in Dekalb is run out of a residential garage but prices are good and rod seems knowledgeable. I buy my salt, chem's. etc at Critters pet shop on 64. I only have a nano but its still moderately empty. So a swap meet would be nice ( although I am usaly to busy ). |

| Golden Moray | Re: Chicagoland Reefers "I know this an older thread but hey, people can still read!" Oh, so theres 5 more pages, DUH! LOL! Anyway, Sea escapes on Randal rd. is nice and clean but staff relay on manager for info. They have a good fish selection both salt and fresh. Thanks for the welcomes. I have some star polyps they are blue/purple in color. They are a lot like carpet, stand 1'' fully opened. I may be propagating the colony, if interested let me know. Nothing is concrete yet so don`t get your heart set on them ( somebody I know is eying them is why ). |
