Re: acan corals

IME they do well under a wide variety of lighting and they are not very aggressive at all. I would keep them away from more aggressive corals. They also seem to appreciate a good feeding.

Did you have any particular types of Acan's in mind?
There is a thread in here with about a billion pictures of different acan's from echinata to lords, and some various micros and such accidentally getting in there

Re: acan corals

Acans are one of my favorite corals.. I have them low in my tank and moderate flow and they do great... How much lighting do you have?

Re: acan corals

4x65w power compacts 2 blue 2 white. Not sure what kind of acan they are aussie they are at Just Coral said their aussie. Have moderate flow in the tank. think they look great. Just wandering if they will actually grow under my lights. Candy Cane and Hammers seem to be doing great. I had to move a hammer out of the sand and up on rocks due to it startiing to lose its tenticales which looked like a slime where sand had been kicked up from my clowns. Looks great now. Really like the coloring of the acans they are bright and iam looking to brighten up my tank.

Re: acan corals

The ones posted on the thread here are A. lordhowensis. I prefer to keep them under 20,000k halides as that really makes there colors pop.
what size tank do you have? I've seen them kept under PC's before, but it was a pretty small tank.
