| Beautiful Katamari | Re: The MANTIS Shrimp Club! Barb they like meaty foods. I work at a restaurant so I get some fresh squid and cut it in small pieces and freeze small portions in RO water. Then I just thaw out a cube about twice a week to feed them fresh calamari. Here is a couple of shots of #1

| Madame Klanganator | Re: The MANTIS Shrimp Club! How about a small piece of raw deli shrimp? I have some of that on hand... just thaw it and rinse/soak in RO? Stick it on the end of a skewer or hold it in my handy-dandy tongs?

| -CHAUVINIST PIG- | Re: The MANTIS Shrimp Club! also, just as a side note precation, Dr. Roy Cauldwell reccomends that we diversify a mantis' diet as much as possible, suplementing these foods w/ garlic and seaclone.

| Madame Klanganator | Re: The MANTIS Shrimp Club! This morning I rinsed and soaked a piece of deli shrimp in RO/DI water, then added selcon and a drop of extreme garlic... let it soak for some minutes. Held it with some tongs out in front of Ms Mantis' den and she came right out and wrestled it out of the tongs! WAY COOL! I need a name for a Tuff Ms Mantis.

| Golden Moray | Re: The MANTIS Shrimp Club! Hate to barge in on an off topic note but I an planning on getting a mantis. My new tank ( La Box De Opciones ) has a dual fuge witch is a little excessive for the setup. So one fuge will become the mantis tank. It is a 17"x 13"x 10"tall 10g made from .22" acrylic. Weather its cell cast like it should be or not I have no clue. I don't know what species I will get. It has to be moderately to easy to care for, small enough for the room provided, and inexpensive enough to buy. Suggestions? Also I am worried about the tank. what are some recommended precautions to take? Line it with .1" acrylic?

| -CHAUVINIST PIG- | Re: The MANTIS Shrimp Club! unless you get one of 3 species of smashers, all of which are too big for your described set up, you wont have to worry about any glass breakage. is suggest a small gonodactylus species, or like a small spearer like a P. Cileate (sp?) hold up...
