| Bryozoan | Advice on tank move I am going to move my 75 gal reef tank. It will stay in the same room, but is moving from a credenza to a proper aquarium stand. Currently I am using a HOT skimmer. During the move, I am going to set up a sump/refugium, overflow box, return pump and in-sump skimmer. Fortunately, the tank is new and only lightly stocked. No fish. Only a few soft corals and one LPS. I know this is not the first time this has been done, so please give me some advice on how to get this done smoothly without loosing all my critters. |

| Re: Advice on tank move not a tough task. You are gonna need plenty of salt made up ahead of time. Siphon off 2/3 of the water keep it warm for reuse. Pull your critters out and put in a large tub with heat and a powerhead. Pull the rock out keep it wet as possible ie wet towels. Move the tank add water and sump, put in the rock and let it settle for a bit then put your critters back in ol/new home. The biggest chore is having plenty of water at the right parameters. |

| Bryozoan | Re: Advice on tank move I have two heaters and plenty of powerheads. I'm planning on using plastic garbage cans to hold the water and livestock while I move the tank. Is it necessary to acclimate the livestock before putting them back into the tank. I'll reuse most of the water, but with the new sump, I'll be adding about 20 gallons of new water to the system. |
