Re: An Online Reef Tour

Hi John!

Had no idea you haunted this forum..lol, But its great to see how your tank has come along. Wow, great pics! Am jeolous and wish I could rig up such equipment over here. How is that mated pair of harlequin doing for you? I am in the middle of a breeding effort and am also documenting their needs and behaviour as well as mating/breeding and larvae rearing at the moment. But am finding out the hard way that I need to rig up a kreisel type tank to ensure better larvae rates. All in due time.

Re: An Online Reef Tour

The harlequin are doing great (they're huge)! I've benn here a while the format here is a little more fast paced over here and they have tons of friendly people just like satwater.com so I haunt both of the forums just this one with a bit more frequency. How are the cuttle fish and I look forward to seeing pics and hearing about your findings. Any new and interesting corals discovered lately?

Re: An Online Reef Tour

Sadly, the cuttlefish had reached the end of their lives, being that they only live for a year or two at most, I felt lucky to have had them for the one year that I did. Extremely interesting critters.
I haven't really done much with the tank lately, its been on auto pilot pretty much while I've been reoccupied with taking reef photos, collecting "hitch hikers" and more importantly, getting my sea urchin study set up and running. Am hitting the water tomorrow since I HAVE to visit the study site and observe whats been going on since last week. Hopefully it works out and can be of use.

Since this is a non-swimming day for me, I'll have to go find a suitable map of the Philippines and get that put up. As noted, with 7,000 plus islands, I imagine it would be of help to those not familiar with the lay of the land so to speak. Thanks for the idea!
