| Tubeworm | Reef Safe Inverts? Hello guys, I was wondering what are the most common reef safe inverts you can add to your tank without putting in danger any type of corals, clams and usual livestock most people have in their reef tanks. For example shrimps, starfish, anemones, tube worms, crabs, etc. For personal experience I have red leg hermit crabs 1 cleaner shrimp and 1 coral banded shrimp without much problems besides the leg hermit crabs eating the snails. Ive been told some starfish may eat corals. |

| Wannabe Guru ![]() | Re: Reef Safe Inverts? Yes some starfish can be a threat to corals and fish so it's very important to research before purchasing. Even some crabs and shrimp such as Mantis can be problematic and often will be introduced into your system as hitchhikers on LR.

| Reef Shark | Re: Reef Safe Inverts? I have Super Tongan Nassarius snails in all of my tanks. I love them. They eat up everything that the fish miss, and keep the sand sifted. I also have serpent stars, peppermint shrimp, and 1 arrow crab. All of which are reef safe. Also I have a Small Horse shoe crab. I love him Hes about one inch long, and sifts the sand better than anything else i have. Ill have to move him once he gets big though. He will eat my clams and worms.
