| Manta Ray | Re: shriveling xenias IME... Xenia does that. I had 2 batches in one of my tanks... One looked horrible, and the other was fine. I had no luck whatsoever with Xenia in my 29 gal or my 3 gal. It is doing very well in my 90.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: shriveling xenias I had a xenia melt down to almost nothing after moving it from one tank to another in the same system. It was only there about an hour while I re-aquascaped the tank it was in and both tanks share filtration etc. It did everntually come back.

| Acropora ![]() | Re: shriveling xenias Zenia will do that from time to time, water changes, feeding, lighting, water flow, etc.. will all make them close for a while. They are very good indicator corals. What I mean by that is any changes seem to effect Zenia for short periods of time. However if something is really wrong they tend to stay closed and fade away. Once they get established they grow like weeds. I've seen some that grow like out of control and others that just cant seem to keep them at all. Iodine levels seem to be very important to Zenia, but do not dose anything unless you can test for it. Good Luck

| Elegance coral | Re: shriveling xenias Are you running a skimmer? When I had a 29 gallon... I couldn't keep it. Melted everytime I introduced it. Now that I have a 75 gallon... it grows like a weed. So, this got me thinkin'... I'm running a CPR Bak-Pak, supposedly that skimmer is made for up to a 60 gallon tank. Could I have been over skimming the 29 and removing the nutrients that the xenia needed? Now that I have the 75, the Bak-Pak is under rated for the larger tank and can't keep up with the skimming needs. ![]()
