Re: 6 months in sps frags growth in 6 months. some eye candy

i think it might have something to do with the bulbs. maybe the sunbulbs would bring out the cup effect on the purples. i just dont like the looks. i have some but only used them for month or so and took them out. what bulbs did you have??

Well I'll give you an idea...

Here is mine when I first got it.

Here is about 2 weeks into halides 1/21/2007.

Here it is now 3/6/2007.

I had so many differant types of bulbs I can't even list them all, the only thing I can figure is the point light source....

Awesome growth Prow ! You're using a CR right ? That makes a huge difference.

PS Most of the Coral farms in Germany use T5's exclusively and you should see the SPS !

Nice growth. What type spectrum T5's do you have and how many? I current put to T5HO's on my tank and have noticed that the lighting seems a lot brighter then when I had the PC's. I currently have one True actinic and one 6700K bulb.

Re: 6 months in sps frags growth in 6 months. some eye candy

cheeks those pics did not post. thanks everyone for the incouraging words always nice to hear. my lights are 6x80watt T5's-- 3 ATI blue plus, 2 ATI aquablues 12k and 1 pure atinic. (2 blue+ and aquablue on 1pm-8pm the other 3 on 3pm-10pm so only 5 hours with all) like dave i have many bulbs and do switch them out here and there. i noticed the sun bulbs really make them grow but i dont like the looks.

yeah i am using a CR. the last month i have only been using probiulder's DIY kalk reactor. which is not keeping up with demand. so the CR is going back on sometime this week.

i did not know that about germany farming with T5's. i wish URI would make some 80 watt bulbs. i love the super blues but they only make them in 54 watters. the 80 watters are little harder to get. but i think they have a lot more punch. i know this is not one of the more demanding sps but this dude is only about 2" off the bottom sand. i dont have a before pic but the growth has been good too. and another frag growth pic's incoming
