Anybody keep tunicates

One of the invertebrates that I enjoy seeing when scuba diving are painted tunicates (clavelina picta). I never see them in reef aquariums or in the LFS for sale. I have also not found anything about keeping them in the reef books that I have.
Does anyone have experience keeping these critters. I would love to be able to have a colony in my new 75 gal.

Re: Anybody keep tunicates

Most tunicates are not suitable for reefs because they just require too much food in their water. Most of the suitable species are rather smallish and hitch a ride in on LR and corals. So it really depends on the species. I have never heard of anyone keeping the painted tunicates, so I am not sure.

Re: Anybody keep tunicates

Is this what you mean by a 'painted tunicate'??? I have had this in my tank for almost a month now and it has almost doubled in size to about half the size of a rugby ball!! it is fed twice weekly on marine snow. I am trying to work out how to split it...any ideas?

Re: Anybody keep tunicates

Sounds like tunicates require a lot of special attention and feeding to keep. Oh well....
