Anthius?

How are Anthius in a 75g?
Do I have to have a school or will one be ok?

I was anctually thinking about a sunset Anthius.

Opinions...Thoughts.....

I have heard that they jump, and I have grated the top of my tank so unless they can fit into a 3/8x3/8 square, they aren't carpet surfing in my house.

Hi Gumby.. One will be fine. They are a pretty easy fish. Will acccept a wide variety of food but prefers live like brine shrimp and will feed off pods in the tank. They like to be in groups for security.. Only put one male in a group though. Good luck

One is better than a school in a 75 IMO... it's the numbers in-between where you have aggression.

They're not for beginners - they have a high metabolism and need to eat several times a day, which can then lead to water quality problems in a smaller tank.

By the way, not to be a smarty-pants but it's spelled "anthias" - I only mention this so you can search for information and get better results.

I have seen a herim of 5 in a 75 the male was a little pushy with the females, but if you keep them fed often it should not be a major problem.

You do need to feed anthius more than twice a day
