Yes I adore his stuff. It's kind of funny though because I usually don't like British humor. I think it is because I first read them as a teenager and I loved the fact that we are an experiment run by mice. That is just too funny. I also love the way each series is different. The radio, book, tv and movie are all different but yet the same. That takes some serious talent. Too bad he is no longer with us.

Have you ever read the "Dirk Gently" books? Those are great too

Starship titanic was good too,.. though not directally written by Douglas. I'm still trying to find the computer game he made.

I have a bunch of interviews by him, and most of his material on multiple formats,.. Regular book of course,.. then audio book, and electronic copies of the text. The audio books are slick because I can listen at work.

It is very much too bad he is dead

Never read the Dirk Gently books, but I have read Starship Titanic.
A long long time ago, I had the DOS version of the Hitchiker game. Played it for months. I got stuck trying to get a door open at one point and it nearly drove me mad. LOL That takes me back in a big way. I wonder if there is a new version.

I never heard of that game! But in one of interviews he was talking about the computer game "Starship Titanic" it was a RPG and you could get it on DVD or a number of CD's. FWIU the book was based loosly on the computer game,.. I've been looking for that but unable to find it

The game I was talking about is old. I want to say sometime in the 80s. Back when dos text games were all we had. No graphics at all. LOL

Ok,.. then the starship titanic game is definitally a newer model,.. his interview was all about how he made the characters able to respond in a meaningfull way using recorded voice.
