| Golden Moray | Re: lr with attached coral depends on meny things... how long the rock was outta water, how much things die'd in it. what kind of coarl was on it... i had a big brittle star that came in my rock when i started my tank a year ago. the brittle star is still alive.. my spike was very small, my rock was outta the water for about 30 min. when you get rock that was outta the water for a day or, 15 hours. you can bet your butt you will get a spike... if you are worried about the coral a lot. i would chisel it apart. put it in a qt tank and set your tank up asap.... other wise be rdy for a cycle

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: lr with attached coral It shouldn't cause a spike as long as it is kept in water. Any die-off might cause a spike, but as long as you keep it in the water you should be good. Some corals can polute your water if they die, but I don't think that was the question. What kind of coral are we talking about?

| Neon dottyback | Re: lr with attached coral I had a big piece of live rock that a sweet maxima clam was bored into and it didn't cause any kind of spike. I wanted that clam so bad and the lfs even charged me for the rock. It was a darn nice clam and the rock was huge.
