controlling aptasia

ive got a few glass anemones popping up here and there in my tank, and i wanna get them under control before they become a problem. ive heard peppermint shrimp are the way to go. if so, will they harm my cup corals or sponges?

There are many links on RS about cotrollling this pest. Do a search and you'll find alot of opinions. Personally, I have 4 peppermint shrimps in my tank and they have not harmed any of my cups. I think its a hit or miss whether they control these pests. They are reported to though.

Certain peppermints will eat aiptasia... some wont. I think it's an east coast/west coast thing (that's over simplified- but a starting point). I have had peppermints that didn't harm any of my corals.

a small syringe filled with kalk paste, squirt it into the mouth of the lil bugger and they die in a day~

I've had peppermints that will eat aiptasia and some that won't. Some that pick at coral and some that don't. I really think it is the individual animal combined with the available food supply.

I've used a small syringe loaded with lemon juice and hot water... Does em in real quick.....
