| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Just Wondering I don't have rock to the top of mine, but my WC procedure is set up now so that I am putting water into the sump at the same time I am taking it out of the top of the tank. So, if I do a 25 gallon WC some of the new stuff will come out with the old, but I find it is less stressful to the fish and I can leave all my pumps running while I do this.

| Re: Just Wondering For many corals the short time not being submerged is not a problem unless they dry off completely, I make sure to have the replacement water ready so the exposure is a couple minutes at best, just to be safe. I do have some corals high in the tanks that have been exposed to the air but have not had any issues. |

| Midas Blenny | Re: Just Wondering Thanks guys, I was just wondering. Right now I can change out 30gal from my 125 and only expose a tiny bit of rock. There is nothing on it now, but if I build up there may be more exposed. I didn't want to harm something later. Thanks again, Ken |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Just Wondering Be extra careful with any sponges you have. They cannot tolerate the air at all so be sure to place them low enough they are never exposed.

| Neon dottyback | Re: Just Wondering The reefs in the ocean have corals, mostly sps that are high and dry so to speak for hours at a time. Low tide... They say the corals build up a good ability to slime up and cover themselves so no harm is done. Thats something I'd like to see in person.
