Joes Juice good and bad!!!

well everyone that i have talked to has said that joes juice is safe on all corals and only hurts glass anemone's. well seems this is not true, squirted a glass anemone near my open brain and some of the juice got on the brain and ate a hole in it??? how resilient are these types of corals to injury?? hopin for the best

I've always blown off any 'juice' that fell on other corals. It sure does look caustic!

Re: Joes Juice good and bad!!!

Captain. The mind meld can be quite... distastefull . 180 Ive always been terrified whenever my Wife decides to do an appy hunt, those pile of white cant be good. Open brains seem to be pretty slow growers so healing will probably take some time, ive used superglue to stop the spread, this was a last resort so not sure if its really a good thing to do, but would watch your tank mates for snacking.Steve

Re: Joes Juice good and bad!!!

Now you got me worried. I ordered som JJ for two majanos that are in the midst of my zoos. Maybe I'll use the vinegar instead.

Suggestions?

Re: Joes Juice good and bad!!!

I ordered the angle tips for better control. Also, I would recommend you practice in your sink or bucket so you get the hang of it, It takes a light touch with a tiny amount to do the job. You don't want to squirt it hard.

Re: Joes Juice good and bad!!!

Joe's Juice=Calcium Hydroxide in saltwater, so definitely not safe for direct contact with coral. It is safe when diluted.
