I have a Custom Sea Life Power Compact fixture that has moon lites built into it. It works great for me, sinec I'm not very mechanically inclined & a DIY project could be disaster for me...

I have 10 blue LED's the resisters, and the plug to make my own. I just kep finding other projects that seem more important. Some day, I will get it up and I will actually be able to report about how I like it, but it onle cost me like $12 for all of the pieces.

I can dig up the item numbers from radioshack if you want 'em.

I went to Home Depot and picked up a plastic lamp fixture, a 2wire extension cord, a 5W blue party bulb, and some liquid electrical tape.

Screwed the thing into my 6' long reflector, and pluged it into my X-10 lamp dimmer. My Aquacontroller takes care of the on/off/phase.

I made my own with Blue LEDs
It cost about $20.00 once all said and done.

Assy.
Lights On
crappy picture but good enough

The LEd's are 3.7V / 20mA / 2600mcd, I have 6 going across the length of the 55 gallon tank.
They each have a 100 Ohm Resistor Soldered to the negative end and then soldered the wire straight to the posts on the LED
Then heat shrinked and "tied" into a 6VDC/300mA AC-to-DC Adapter (I bought from Radio Shack.)
