Do clowns (false percs) exhibit any particular type of behavior before laying eggs?

I know about the 'shuddering' when a couple are determining who's dominant.

But I was wondering whether or not they start to act funny before egg laying.

Cleaning an area to prep for egg laying, eating like they can never get enough, protecting there area at all costs (even your hand) and lastly the females ova dipositor protrudes..... all sign's of an possible upcoming spawn
