Re: spray injector skimmers

I think that they are one of the better types of skimmers on the market, better than pumping air anyways
Good luck

Matt

Re: spray injector skimmers

I've never had any other 'spray injected skimmer' other than my remora.

I would like to follow your progress on making one. If possible, could you create a thread?

Re: spray injector skimmers

Don't recall reading/hearing about any one besides AquaC using this technology. ALL their skimmers btw are spray injectors, not just the Remora hang-ons...

Re: spray injector skimmers

Right you are ,I am thinking more the EV series style, not sure how they do their injector but mine is so stupidly simple, and its foaming like mad, say goodbye to high psi pumps. To see that foam column climbing an empty riser is against nature for sure, no way it could ever flood, when I finalise the design Ill do a build thread if anyones interested. I've got a friend with shallow pockets, that wants to build his own skimmer for his gorgeous 210 gallon fowlr tank. I'd love to hear about your project!

Re: spray injector skimmers

would be nice to see some pics as you DIY it steve
I remember a thread somewhere sowing one built out of a 5gal. water jug.
I think the elos skimmers are the foam injection type also...nice design

Re: spray injector skimmers

These type of skimmers do work well but require powerful pumps so the energy cost can increase dramatically compared to the needlewheel skimmers but if it's going to be DIY you'll save on initial cost so it's a trade-off I guess.

Re: spray injector skimmers

Thanks everyone, decided to put pen to paper on this one instead of just busting a move into acrylic land, so its off to my jask program for a bit. Boozeman once again provided yet another great piece of info(what a dude) Steve
