| Harlequin Tuskfish | Phosban Reactor? They are used to remove phosphates from your system when used with a phosphate removal media. Can also be used with nitrate/copper sponge, mixed bed resins or absorption resins <-(Have no idea what those are). Can it also be used as a calcium reactor? I'm asking because i need to know if i should include one of these in the design of my sump. Is there a such thing as removing to many phosphates? (but isnt having 0 phosphates the goal). How do these things work? almost seems like a skimmer but your passing water through different media's. I'm so confused. |

| Harlequin Tuskfish | Re: Phosban Reactor? Cancel that. I stumbled across my Answer on Melevsreef.com. Man his site is full of information for all sorts of questions relating to Sumps/Refugiums. Keep up the good work Marc. Here is the answer incase anyone else cared to know. Question: Where/how do I run carbon? I recommend running carbon actively via a Phosban Reactor. These are around $30 online, and fit easily in the sump without taking up space. Water flows through the media, working at peak efficiency. This is much better than placing it in the sump in a mesh bag, which is called passive filtration. Courtesy of www.Melevsreef.com |
