| Tubeworm | Microbubbles!!!!!!!!! Man how do u guys get rid of your microbubbles? I know this has probably been asked many times but I still cant find a solution. I have two powerheads facing the surface of the water to create agitation but the bubbles seem to like the front side of the tank. Doest look appealing so I want to get rid of them. Thanks guys. |

| Re: Microbubbles!!!!!!!!! First you need to find the cause, powerheads will not produce bubbles unless you are supplying them with air, is there a hose on them? If there is take them off and that should eliminate the cause. To remove what you have, I use a turkey baster to "blow" them of the surface they are clining on, use the water pressure to force them off the glass, powerheads etc. and they will float to the surface. |

| Plate Coral | Re: Microbubbles!!!!!!!!! Some powerheads will create microbubbles if they have a little air trapped inside it can't push out, you have to shake the air out. Or another cause of microbubbles from powerheads can be from cavitation due to restricted flow. If the intake on a powerhead becomes clogged or otherwise restricted, it can cause the propeller to cavitate or form a pocket of air inside the impeller chamber. This will cause the powerhead to spray bubbles.

Do you have a sump and if so do you have baffles ? How much flow do you have going thru the sump ? Do you have a skimmer and if so is it a HOT or sump model ?
