| Bryozoan | Goniopora..FlowerPot Coral I have this FlowerPot Coral in my 180 Gal tank in corner, moderate flow and good lighting....It has nearly trippled in size in about three months. Feed it cyclopeze, Dt's plankton and shrimp(baby brine) clacium levels are always above 400...Alk is always around 10....all other levels are undetectable(the bad stuff). Anyone know anything about these guys, seems to be a lot of debate whether they are good aquarium animals, die after 12 months.?.? This one has even budded and has anther bud about ready to come off...seems to me it is very healthy. Any advice, do's or do not's with this animal? Greatly appreciated |

| Sea Pen | Re: Goniopora..FlowerPot Coral systems without a skimmer have been said to support a goniopora better than the super clean or almost stripped system that todays powerful skimmers produce thats what i have been told by many when i tell them i have a growing aquacultured goniopora bud in my system good luck |

| Reef Lobster | Re: Goniopora..FlowerPot Coral also, a nice thing, is that you can help keep healthy versions of this coral abounding. those buds will be a lot more hardy than the mother colony, and should adapt to any well-kept aquarium well... then when they bud you've got 2rd generation aquacultured!! salty... that seems to be the idea with elegance too... i bet there's a connection. i wouldn't recommend them in a ridiculously low nutrient sps tank, but i don't think you have to have a "dirty" tank either.
