Question Modify Overflow for use as a pod farm?

Has anyone ever modifed their extra overflow to be used as a pod farm?

Just looking for ideas.

I have this extra overflow box that I am not using (its still in the tank and I thought I might as well try to use it) and thought i might try to modify it.

Any ideas?

I have seen people use a skimmer for this purpose. I'm not sure how you will block the drain hole. I suppose you could put some acrylic over the hole and put a powerhead in there.

On the other hand, you can do what EdgeKrusher did. He drilled a whole bunch of holes in his and put some rubble and Macroalgae in it for an in-tank fuge. I think he put a pic up here somewhere.

My overflow uses u-tubes to move the water from the overflow box to another box where teh water would flow to the sump.

If I remove the u tubes, then the over flow becomes just a box with water in it inside my tank.

I have plastic bolts (with wing nuts) holding a lexan flat so that i can adjust the water flow into the over flow by moving the lexan up and down.

Did EdgeKrusher use a pump or just let the water flow naturally through the tank?

You can see the edge of it here is this pic Here

You can see the holes he drilled in it. I'm going to try to find another pic. If I can, I'm going to PM him.
