| Star Polyps | busy weekend Spent most of the day Sunday downstairs in the basement, Teri's honey do list was getting too long. I upgraded the lights on both the refugium and the frag tank. I built a quick (and I do mean Quick) hood to house a 175w 10k ushio and an Icecap solid state ballast for over the frag tank and moved the hood I had built w/4 x 75w uri vho's and an Icecap 430 for the frag tank over to the refugiuim. Hopefully the upgrades will make a difference. I also got the plumbing parts I need to experiment with the two scwds we just got, I'm going to test them on the frag tank and if I like them I might move them to the main tank. If you want to see pics please ask the photo dept. ![]()

| DIY Moderator | Don, Sounds like a good upgrade. Let me know what you think about the dual SCWD setup. I was thinking of doing that, but wasn't sure how the wave action would be. keep up the great work

| Star Polyps | Dave, I'll let ya know. It might not be for a couple of weeks but I'll keep ya posted. I'm going to setup the first one upside down on the frag tank and feed it with one of the drains from the tank. My only concern right now is that I'm going from a 1" drain to a 3/4" scwd. I'm not sure the scwd will handle the flow, you could put out a fire with what comes out of the 1" drains that come from the tank. I'd like to mount it upside down so the water flows straight down from the tank and right into the scwd, I'm not sure if the scwd is going to like running upside down for a long time, I guess I'll find out
