| Brunt of all Jokes~ | Re: Tunze Stream In 155 Gals Reef Tank Cecilio, Ive never had tunze pumps but I understand they are major flow makers, have you tried having them come on at the same time and pointing them right at each other,Seve |

Did you change the magnet around? Is it still shooting to the fron glass ? Mine shoots from back right of tank across to left side glass and bounces back to lower right of tank going full force. I find it hard to place anything in direct flow on top of my rocks. ![]() | |

| Manta Ray | Re: Tunze Stream In 155 Gals Reef Tank it goes from left mid and points slightly to right front coner, but not directly at the corner, if that makes sence. my tank is six feet long so that helps but its only 20" tall. they do point kinda up, not alot but up. ripples the surface. if i let hit the glass directly anywhere the down flow always ends up blowing my sand. on the other side of the tank i am using a mod maxijet 900 that meets the tunze flow around the mid, so the down flow is over the rock i put a few acro's are there to help block the down flow, they love the flow. i also have a couple reg maxijet on a wave maker that pushes the tunze flow you can see one in the pic. that helps to slow the flow across the tank and randomizes it too. i did find while playing with it that pointing the tunze a 1/4" this way or that makes a big difference. it did take awhile adjusting it so i could have it on full power. i point it up enough so i can place things that i could not if it pointed down or straight in front of it. with out it pointing up i dont think i could put anything in front of it. just need to make sure where the flow meets other flow the down flow ends up over the rocks with flow loving corals there. hard to really discribe. |

| Manta Ray | Re: Tunze Stream In 155 Gals Reef Tank i like mine set on fast sequences between highest power "flow" and mid power. gives me a good random surge. with other powerheads on wave maker my flow gets real chaotic motions through out as well. you might want to go with a slower "flow" rate as you have softies, and a longer sequence for less chaotic motion and more easy/gental surges. i have mostly sps so am going for more strong chaotic flow, not so gental. but i do have some clams and lps also. i would play with it. each time you adjust give it 15-20 minutes before you adjust it again, give time to settle, it take some time for everything to adjust and see the results of your changes. i found by waiting and makeing small adjustments i got it just right. honestly i messed with it for about week daily before getting it set just right. for the glass i tried the front corner pointing accross the front. then pointing towards the back, then the back corner pointing accross the back then pointing to the front corner ect....ended up putting it on the side mid and the top pointing slightly up and to the front. almost blowing straight over the rocks in the mid but slightly angled towards the front. this took a little while find the sweet spot. i did have to move one of my clams once the flow was just right everywhere else. oo also if you point the two directly at eachother i found it makes to much of a down flow at that point. if you point them at eachother but just off so the flow does not directly hit eachother helps. |
