Re: Hosting

Hi! I am going to hitchhike on this thread, in hopes to get an answer as well! I have 2 anemones (one purple LTA, and a bubble tip which was a hitchhiker on the bottom of my brain coral). Long story short... my clowns are suddenly very affectionate to my brain coral.... go figure!

Re: Hosting

Which sp. clowns clowns do you have and which anemone ? Wild caught clowns will usually take to their natural host much quicker but can bring with them many pathogens that captive bred will not. My wild caught True perc prefered my Frogspawn for years over several anemones I had in the tank so you never know it could take minutes to months before they find and accept a host anemone.

Re: Hosting

Sometimes location within the tank can change things also. We had a pair of ocellarius that would jump in anything that was placed near a certain ledge that they hung out in all the time. Euphyllia corals, mushrooms, leathers, didn't matter. If it was near the ledge they would go into it.
So we chose to move the lps corals from the middle of the tank to the sides, they left em alone when they were on the sides of the tank away from their cozy little home.
