| Midas Blenny | different types of protine skimmers what is the difference between venturi, needle wheel and im not sure what they call this an injector or jet skimmer? is anyone better than the other? im planning on picking up a bigger skimmer so im trying to do my home work on them so i dont go out and by a lemon..thanks for everyones opnion |

| The CodFather ~ | Re: different types of protine skimmers they differ from each other in the type of mechanism used to create the bubbles/foam...which one is better than the other is a hotly debated topic

| Brunt of all Jokes~ | Re: different types of protine skimmers Flyline, venturi- water forced thru a restriction and drawing air in as a result of vaccuum. needle wheel-modified impeller pump draws in air and beats it into froth.Injector- usually a high pressure jet of water striking the water surface and creating air bubbles by force. As with all things every maker does it a bit different . I prefer becketts and mazzie injectors myself as no matter what you always get more than required and you can turn it down, these however do require somewhat stronger pumps to operate. good luck Steve |
