| Bryozoan | Good Tank Cleanup Alright I've offically had enough of my peppermint shirmp. I have about 5 and they are just too much to handel. I walked in today to see them all tearing pieces off various corals and I'm sick of loosing my money to these guys! I have about 15 snails for my 115 gallon tank and these peppermints. What else should I consider adding if i remove the peppermits? Is there anything else that cleans up all dead matter or undesierable things from my tank (i.e. left over food scraps) and also are the 15 snails enough for my 115 gallon system? Also as a side question I was wondering if its necessary to feed my open brain coral any lfrozen food from time to time. I read they love bits of shrimp and such occasionally. Thanks for the help guys! |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Good Tank Cleanup I too have recently had trouble with my peppermints and they are on the way back to the lfs. What kind of snails do you have? Personally I love my conchs. I have fighting conchs for the substrate and I have read fabulous things about queen conchs for h=the rock etc, How about other types if shrimp? Just some thoughts, Hope it helps.

| Acropora ![]() | Re: Good Tank Cleanup See Peppermint Shrimp ARE evil!!! Peppermint Shrimp are Evil! Ive got scarlet hermits in my cleaner crew so far they havent bothered anyone and seem to do a decent job. I also have a cleaner shrimp who only bothers ME when I go in the tank (he loves to climb up my hands) and a blood shrimp. Both are totaly cool. Get some more snails. I have more than 15 snails in my 29 gallon tank All different types. The nassarius are a blast to watch.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Good Tank Cleanup As of last night 2 out of 4 had been caught and are waiting for transport this weekend, One of the best ideas my lfs has had was buying a fish trap which he rents out by the week. He loaned it to us because I spend lots there and am getting rid of the perrpermints and will replace them with new fire shrimp. LOL
