DOH!!!!!
Ouch......now I'm really curious how much David Saxby's 1500 gallon set up cost. According to "Ultimate Reef Aquariums" by Mike Paletta, there's approximately one ton of Red Sea liverock in the tank and it was placed in the tank w/in 24 hours of being collected.
Wow....I'd need a few part time jobs to cover the cost of this hobby over there....

Just hought I'd post some pics of the two new clams in my tank. Please excuse the poor image quality, I'm using a an old Sony Mavica that I dont think is even one megapixel in resolution.
Stuff on the glass is coraline that wouldnt scrape off very well...

here is the one w/ green stripes with my Derasa that is almost 6 inches now. The green Sinularia is a frag from Jchump over @ RAG. Please keep in mind that my tank doesnt have actinics running on it. I'm just using a single 175 watt AB 10k bulb, so that is why these clams dont quite resemble the pictures from the website. I'm very happy w/ these two new clams and I can easily see where the clams will "pop" when placed under actinic lighting.
Also, I love how that green Sinularia looks w/o actinic...cant wait to see it under them. These pics are fairly representational of the tank..but this camera doesnt have a white balance, so I cant adjust. The Sinularia looks a bit more electric green in real life.

heres a strange perspective of the Blue/Black Maxima and the Green Trachyphyllia that I purchased from Inland Aquatics when we went there last week, (many people still call this Wellsophyllia. I'm just going by what Eric Bourneman states in his book. He gets paid the big bucks to know all this obscure stuff. This shot is from the right side of the tank, looking left.

this is a better shot of the right side of the tank....the green slimer acro in the middle is recovering from a nasty RTN?bleaching event.
thats my Long Tentacled Anemone and Maroon clown in the back. The LTA had been in the opposite side of the tank, but got annoyed when I rearranged somethings and partially shaded it. I wandered all over my tank, and finally decided it wants to be in the back...sigh....messin up my Feng Shui!

One last pic....this is a full tank shot shooting from a slightly raised position in order to hide the hideous canopy that I threw together in 5 minutes one day and have been too lazy to replace w/ something pretty. A nice collection of multicolored Zoos is on the rock ledge over the anemone.

That thing has grown rapidly. It has added at least an inch and a half to its shell in the 5 months I've had it.

No reactor as of yet....I'm dosing Seachem's Reef Advantage Calcium and Reef Builder (Alkalinity) in w/ my top off water....I will have a reactor on my new tank.
Yeah , Its pretty strange to be sitting home right now. Normally I'm busy making drinks, explaining to people how to get into the show (www.thepageant.com), changing kegs, washing glasses, keeping up the witty banter, and monitoring all the drunken lil monkeys under my care...
Nice change tho....
