gph on Skimmer?

Can you have to much water flowing through your skimmer?

Hummm... probably. Most skimmers have their "recommended" gph rating. I'd try to stick to that size.

Skimmers need Contact time, depending on the model you can overdrive them but you loose effiecncy for volume. I'm always tweaking mine, sometimes more flow, weter and sometimes slow thick gunk! I actually like it a little wetter.

i dont think a bigger skimmer hurts anything i dont think you can over skim with a larger skimmer but i do agree with using the size pump recomended for your brand of skimmer.hth.
