| Smilie Bartender ![]() | Oh.....my..... I stumbled on this at RC. This has to be the worst example I've ever seen of... well, of so so many things done wrong. I'm no fan of the "tang police" but this thread had me wanting temporary deputy status. I didn;t even know where to begin, so I kept it short and sweet. ![]() http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...01#post2228701 Note: I am NOT advocating people go flame this person. I'm just sharing it as a remarkably shocking experience. |

| Scopas Tang | the sad thing is, there are way too many poeple who just go buy some fish because they're pretty, but they never learn how to properly take care of them. if this person is from hong kong, those particular fish may be very inexpensive to buy, so this person may be under the philosophy that if they die, you can always just buy more- what a shame. |

| Smilie Bartender ![]() | Honestly, I didn't want to get into it over there. I won't get into the particulars, but sometimes I just know I'll regret entering a discussion. That's why I usually just browse the photography forum there... which is where the thread appeared.

| Scopas Tang | Well I can see a new member in the Reef Sanctuary's future. I agree way to many fish, but the posts could have been more reasonable. Heck if that post would have been on this board someone would have at least said, welcome, beautiful fish. Then proceed to explain what is going to happen. That is why this board and previously the RAG are the best, the people think before they write and they are not rude. |

| Reef Lobster | I thought this was well said from smokingreefer: first off, to the regulars here... you people have no tact. leoto, the point that others are trying to make is that we feel your tank is extremely small to be housing the fish you currently have. the fish you have are truly beautiful but will require a tank of much greater size than you currently have... many of the fish you have will attain large sizes and require lots of swimming space and territory. and that is just touching the surface of your fishes requirements... water quality is another important issue that you will most likely have issues with. i can appreciate that fishkeeping practices may be different overseas, but here, and especially on this board, we try to provide the best environment for the animals under our care... and cramming a small tank full of fish is looked down upon and considered cruelty to the animals you are keeping. i hope you can take our concerns to heart and do some reading or internet research on your fishes requirements and husbandry. best of luck with your fish, and hope you will be able to provide a good home to them. please dont be discouraged to post and ask questions on this board...there are many here that will be more than willing to help you with suggestions and information on our (accepted) views on fish husbandry. |

| Reef Lobster | And here is one way to create controversy. Probably a nice person, but with very poor communication skills. Post from Sc4r3d I am more then willing to help, all he has to do is ask. I was merely pointing out the fact that he has way to many fish in that little tank. I wasn’t taking cheap shots at him, or anybody. Smokinreefer speak for yourself, this is a board for people to express there feelings, if you don’t like what people say keep your trap shut, and go on to the next post, attacking individual people is moronic. This is a free country, to say we have no tact, is ludicrous and stupid! And playa, we are a class act, all we said was way to many fish in that size tank, not a cheap shot at anyone, just stating that he has to many fish, I think TS, myself and skylsdale are class act's and very good posters here on RC. It doesn’t matter what country you are from, READ before you add fish that need to be in 180 gallon plus tanks, STUPIDITY is not an excuse! If you don’t like what was said, then you are not a true Aquarist, we know that the truth hurts but killing fish hurts even more! |
