Mine is 7x2x1.5 (about 140Gallon) with a 4x1.5x1.5 Sump. I not saying that's my favourite but just what I could sqeeze into the available space at the time. I've moved house now and have a wall ready for a 12x3x3 with my current tank and cichlid tank as a sump and refuge ..... but that dream is 4-5 years away at the moment ....

My vote went for the 220g. Yes, I feel if money was no object...the bigger the better!!! But, alas money for now is still an object so with that being said we have a whopper of a 46g!!!

Hey, just had a thought for those of us who can't afford a larger reef tank for now we could have LUCKYINK paint us a reef scene on some plywood and then we could frame our aquariums with it and presto!!! A larger reef tank!!!

It's early....what can I say?

Well I want a 6' x 3' x 2' reef tank. I would love the 3' depth for aquascaping and 3D affect!

I went with the 180 I've had it as a FOT in the past and really look forward to building the reef as soon as the construction is completed.

I am in the process of building a 120 gallon tank now out of acrylic, so I can drill it and customize it the way I want it.
This is all the space that I have for the tank. But a large improvement from a 75.
My Stand is already built to handle it (the one I am using now.)

I like the 180's & 220 also would be nice, I just can't say I'd set a size as for as being big enough, my 100g is 60"Lx19"Hx20"D I think. It could be deeper, bigger longer, faster & more powerful than a Steaming Locomotive....Oh yea sorry!

Bigger is always better! Voted 220 'cause that was as big as I could.

I will get a 96" long 240 gallon tank and not so tall. This will allow easier light pentration, weight distribution over a greater area, and more lateral swim room for da fishes!

Thanks everyone

I guess I should have put a theoretical/practical size limit because bigger is always better. except for mr4000 I guess.

I love all of the comments on the different sizes and reasons. It is interesting to hear about peoples preferences. Maybe I'll post a less than 90 poll soon.

Thanks all

I voted for the 155 bowfront. One of the lfs here has that one for a display and it looks really good. Anything larger is too much money and maintenance as far as I'm concerned.

Cat- A lfs near my parents has that tank as well and it is a beaut. Only problem is that they have a huge (@12") naso tang in it that makes the tank look small. My preference is lots of "little" fish to keep the tank to scale but that naso is pretty.

I was checking prices for large acrylic tanks and they are much cheaper than their glass counterparts. Not to mention a lot lighter! Would anyone consider a large acrylic tank or does the scratch issue keep most to glass? except Pro of course!

Tom

I voted for the 180gal taking into consideration the amount of money I would have to spend on LR, lighting etc. Wish I could strike the jackpot this weekend

I voted for the 120 simply because that is the tank that I am trying to get set up.
