CHROMIS-VS-chromis

I have a 55gal w/ two blue chromis's there both approx 1 3/8" each, they get along great, had them about 1month.Today i bought two false percula's w/ detached center lines ,( pretty cool to see) anyway the clowns are in the tank everyone's minding there own business, until the one chromis a 1/16" bigger becomes dominent over the other chromis you would think that either of the two species would become dominent over the other species. I had fish for years and thought i've seen it all but to see one bully the other because of new fish, thats strange. I GOT MY MONEY ON THE TURBO GRAZIER

Re: CHROMIS-VS-chromis

chromis will often have one become the dominant one. they are a schooling fish but there is usually one that will dominate. I would reccomend getting a third

Re: CHROMIS-VS-chromis

I have a couple of Chromis and one clown and every once and awhile the larger Chromis will chase after the smaller one who usually will run behind one of the ends of the closed loop. After the initial chase the aggression is over and they are back to swimming with each other.

Re: CHROMIS-VS-chromis

I started my 120g with 8 chromis and have 1 large one left from the group. I have been wanting to add somemore cause they are so cool. I asked at my LFS and the lady I trust there said she thought it'd be ok to add some even though these were so much smaller. I got 3 to have a total of 4 and the latge one chased the smaller ones the first day. Now they all get along fine.

G,day Dude,
Get a third Chromis and throw a spanner into the works,it should be interesting, odd numbers work better with them.
