| Can this touch that? Hye guys and gals, can a torch coral touch a pagoda cup with out hurting either? Where can I find what corals are safe to touch each other. Right now I have the colt and Pagoda cup, mushrooms, sinlara, brain, toadstool leather, fiji leather, green star polyps. thanks in advance |

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: Can this touch that? Really you should have no corals touching, mushrooms, zoas, buttons and things like that are fine. A torch will kill the pagoda, as it will kill most things it comes in contact with. The only tings it wont kill are that of the same species( frogspawns, hammers, grapes ect.) At night the will put out sweeper tenticles that have a very high stinging power, therefore it should be places 2-5 inches away from everything else. |

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: Can this touch that? I am guessing the torch coral would sting/kill the pagoda. Always allow empty space between different corals. Also note that some corals send out stinger/sweeper tenticles far beyond the colony to fight for space.

| Torch coral ![]() | Re: Can this touch that? I suggest trying it and monitoring. I have a Trachy or green open brain coral and this thing is absolutely perfect for a center piece because a variety of corals touch it with NO ill effects to either (Sinularia, Goniopora, Hammer, Rhodactus shrooms). This is one of those topics that really needs some good research. Generally people think all corals shouldnt touch but there are many combinations that can IMO.

| Totally back ![]() | Re: Can this touch that? They probably won't sting each other, but be aware that many types of "leather" corals can and will release chemicals that can negatively affect hard corals. Either stunting growth, causing them to close up or worse... I would suggest purchasing Eric Borneman's Aquarium Corals book so you can read about each type of coral and figure out proper placement in the tank as well as how coral placement can affect other corals, ie chemicals, sweepers, etc.
