Question Marine Betta Q

I bought a healthy, excellent specimen of a marine betta at my trusted favorite lfs. I talked with the guys there and they said it ate about most food, and they had had it in for about three weeks.
After I get home from work I logged on to RS to do some research on the fish. From what I gathered, the marine betta will eat only live foods! And had never been known to feed on pellets, frozen, dried opr the likes. Well, needless to say, I freaked out and went down to work with a variety of foods. the first thing I tried was frozen "Marine Cuisine" cube. He ate them first time. He ate several gulps worth. It seem not to be so finicky as I was led to believe.
Does anyone here have any experience with this fish?
Thanks,
Greg.

Re: Marine Betta Q

While I never kept one myself, I did get one with a tank I bought, (but traded it in within a couple of days) and it would eat almost anything. Here's a nice article about them:

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~
