Holy Sarcophyton Batman

My sarchophyton has a hole in it.

What's up with that. It seems healthy otherwise....extended polyps, good color, has been growing well. Should I be concerned?

Looks very healthy. I'm not too sure I'd worry that much about it.
Ok, I'll ask a silly question....do these guys split?

Everything I've read says that new buds will form at the base when they reproduce. Can't find anything about splitting.

I've seen this a couple of times with freshly imported Sarcophyton spp.

It is caused by a worm living inside the coral. In the cases I know of, it caused no long term damage and actually the worms disappeared after some time in aquarium.
