Your experience with ozone and skimming?

I've read that using ozone will make your protein skimmer more efficient at removing contaminants, but was never sure whether that meant an increase in the volume collected in the cup per day, or a change in the waste appearance or composition... or what. I've recently introduced ozone into my 65 gal tank, beginning with 50mg/hr for one hour each day. I introduce the ozone into the input of my Mag3 pump, which is connected to AquaC Urchin Pro skimmer. I have noticed an almost immediate reduction in skimmer waste volume. The water just isn't as frothy as it was before. I've had to lower the height of the collection cup just to collect any waste at all! Is this to be expected?

Welcome aboard neuroslicer.

Aren't you a member of WTMRA? I think i've seen pix of your tank there. NICE! If that's not you....nevermind.

Check out this thread on ozone. Seems that the jury is still out but some good reading.
