| Pistol Shrimp | Canister Filter trouble I have a Eheim 2215 on my 55gal tank. I think there must be some air leaking in from somewhere, but cant find any leaks. Frequently you will hear the pump change pitch, and within a couple seconds the cascade tube floods the tank with bubbles, and it looks like crap. I bought the filter used, so I cleaned it up pretty good, repacked the media Soft pad bag of carbon eheim filter medium ( the tubular stuff mixed with eheim rocks) Coarse pad Anyone ever have a similar problem? Thanks

After that it works really well without spewing the airbubbles. I would also recommend that you replace the o-ring that seals the motor to the canistor. If it was left to dry out a bit that could cause a small air leak.

| Pistol Shrimp | Re: Canister Filter trouble Good Idea, replacing the O-ring. I will try that since shaking it has done little to help the issue. I really need to build/buy a sump, just need to figure out where to put it, it will not fit under my tank, I guess I could put it beside/below my tank, only a little more plumbing required.
