| Torch coral | AquaController DC8 I was considering purchasing an AquaController Jr. with the DC8. I wanted to plug the following items into the DC8 device: Metal Halide Ballast 1 Metal Halide Ballast 2 Power Compact Ballast Sump Return Pump Powerhead 1 Powerhead 2 Heater 1 Heater 2 Canopy Fan 1 Canopy Fan 2 Only problem is that there are 10 items in my list but only 8 outlets on the DC8. Can I plug the two heaters into and extension cord and plug the extension cord into the DC8 and do the same with the Canopy Fans?

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: AquaController DC8 I'm guessing the DC8 has a max amp rating. Going over would blow the fuse. If you can't find any ratings for it, call the manufacturer and ask what the max is...

| Reef Lobster | Re: AquaController DC8 To me that seems a lot of stuff to plug into any one outlet. Even if the controller is rated for so many amys, it is still drawing from one house circuit... I would do the math and figure out how much amps all those add up to. If you are good on the amps, I would combine the fans or powerheads instead of the heaters.. heaters pull a lot of watts...

| Reef Lobster | Re: AquaController DC8 Here is the important line... 8 120V Outlets (Max 6 Amps, total current must be less than 15 Amps). You will have to figure out the total amperage of all your items... Or post what ya know about them... and I will figure it out.

| Torch coral | Re: AquaController DC8 The only thing I have with me here is the return pump. It's a Mag 9. The lable on it reads "1.33 Amps". All the other equipment is at home. I'll have to check those items.
