to break, or not to break?

well i finally got some corals for my 10 gal nano (been staring at LR and my cleanup crew for two months) One of the frags is GSP thats growing on the skeleton of what looks to be a digitata. When I got it with the rest of my corals last night it looked like the digitata was completely dead. Today, after a couple hours under my 175 10k half of it is still alive. There is a 1/2 inch gap between where the GSP ends and the live monti starts. My question is can i superglue the white portion of the digitata to a rock and leave the GSP and the monti together, or break the couple of pieces of digitata off the dead skeleton and glue the two corals seperately? so basically i would like to know if the GSP will hurt and/or inhibit the rehabilitation of the rest of the digi? (Sorry the post is so long, just trying to accurately describe the issue) thanks ahead of time.

I would break it up since the GSP will quickly overtake the coral, their growth rate can reach plague like proportions quickly under the right conditions.
