| Upgrade 55 to 120 OK I got hooked by this hobby a bit ago and saw that my 55 wouldn't satisfy me. I have bought a 120 and am in process of building the sump and hood for lighting. Got all that figured out thanks to the posts on here. My question right now is...I am considering curing my own live rock in the tank. I have 70 pounds in the 55 that I will use in addition to 100+ pounds of new rock. The rock in the 55 is fully cured and growing nice coraline already. Should I put that rock in with the uncured or leave it out till it has cured which would be a problem as I don't have space for both tanks at once. |

| Reef Lobster | Re: Upgrade 55 to 120 You might consider using just a smaller piece of the existing rock to seed the new rock, might make the cure go faster. I don't think I would put all the old rock in with the new due to the spikes you will have curing it. Maybe just cure the new rock in a large container with a good power head and heater.... it would be nice to be able to run a skimmer on the curing rock too.... If you can do without the skimmer on the tank for a bit... I was thinking large rubbermaid or trash can for the uncured rock.....
