| Plate Coral | How to frag Zoa's!?! My small colony of zoa's has gone through its up and down and they didn't open for atleast a month, maybe 2 months...anyway we figured out why they wouldn't open but today they are still finiky and they sorta open sometimes...i was thinking of fragging some away from the colony because i have heard that they will lgrow on there own rather then grow with the influence of the colony...im hoping that after fragging, the new frag will fully open more consistently!?! So how do you frag Zoa's and let me know if my thining is right? |

| WOLVERINE~ ![]() | Re: How to frag Zoa's!?! if they arent actively spreading,,,fragging will do more harm than good,,,,and there are many precautions to take,,,rubber gloves, eye shileds and mouth shield.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: How to frag Zoa's!?! Make sure you are blowing off settled detritus on them. Use a turkey baster or a power head. Fragging is easy... either place a few pieces of rock rubble around the edges of the colony or simply peel some of the zoas off then super glue (GEL) them to another rock! As mentioned above, wear goggles & gloves.. the 'juice' in the zoas is a very dangerous palytoxin!!!!!!

| Tunicate | Re: How to frag Zoa's!?! Mine were ding great, and then all of the sudden half the colony quit opening. I dont think there is anything anything effecting them. I thought it might have just been a process they go through, but non of my others have done anything except spread. any suggestions? should i try moving them?
