Painting Tanks

Ok.. i painted the back of my 100Gal and really like to colour... point to note for anyone attempting to do the same.. the colour youchose won tbe the same colour that u see in the tank. lighting. refraction through the water and other stuff will all affect the end result. anyhow....

I used an acrylic paint on it and now i have some salt startign to creep under it. really annoying but i had a feelign this would happen. using an enamal paint would hav ebeen better iv ebeen told but then u have problems with it sticking to the glass itself. Ther is a product that is like etch primer but i was a bit skeptical about using it, and not entirely sure if u wouldnt get the same salt problem.

anyone have any more experience on this than me.. ?? ? ??

Re: Painting Tanks

I just use spray paint, but on a glass tank, with no problems. Use like 3-4 coats.

Re: Painting Tanks

Yeah, whatever the regular cheap stuff is. I use a spray glass cleaner to prep. It also helps to have a bright light on hand to check for missed areas like spots or flecks.
