| Torch coral ![]() | Re: Sun coral erosion I used to have these and I realized in order to maintain them (ward against recession) feeding is necessary at least once a week IMO. I eventally grew tired of feeding my three colonies every 2-3 days, and gave them to friends. They also tend to be sloppy feeders and so pollute the tank easily. I feed cyclopeze, krill, live brine shrimp, rotifers, pretty much everything. I also noticed the color will fade if in direct light.

| Reef Lobster | Re: Sun coral erosion yeah the true sun coral need to be fed, as they are not that photosynthetic, from what i've read... there is a species that looks almost identical to it, and those are ok with just light.

| Reefus Geekus ![]() | Re: Sun coral erosion This is what I did with mine, when I had a tank. ![]() Cut the top off of a 2 or 3 liter soda bottle, thoughly washed of course, and set it upside down over the coral. Using your turkey baster blast some cyclopeze, live brine shrimp, or whatever you want into the top and then screw on the lid. This will keep the food near the coral and give a chance to eat its fill before the fish steal it all. Either stick around to watch the fun or come back in an hour and remove the feeding hat from the coral. Mine was receding like yours until I started using this procedure and it slowly began to regenerate, until I had to sell the tank. ![]()
