Anyone created this style of durso standpipe?

I have an external overflow for my tank and i need to quiet it down alot...i was pointed in the direction of durspstandpipes.com. It's a great cite with great information.

I stumbled apon a standpipe that was created for an external overflow...go to www.dursostandpipes.com, then select popular modifications, and finally select Stockman Hangon Overflow.

What im trying to determine is what is the best style of durso standpipes for an external overflow? And how difficult are they to piece together?

Thanks!

I built some stockmans And they worked well for cutting down on noise. It took several tries to get them right so buy extra fittings to save a trip back to the store. I had to change the length of the stand pipe section a couple times so make them long at the start.

Re: Anyone created this style of durso standpipe?

In my case the overflows still made noise but I was dealing with a LOT of flow. Now overflows are not too noisy untill you remove the stand pipes and foam sleeves. If your willing to clean the foam sleeves often maybe daily they will work fine for filtering out the big chunks and cut down on the noise. If your trying to hump a lot of water thru the overflows the foams can't get clogged up. Let me know when you finally get fed up with those external overflows, I'll loan YA my diamond hole saw and walk Ya thru installing internals!
