| www.kids-with-cameras.org ![]() | Re: Return pump for 180? Thanks Billy Doni the reason i asked about the flow wasnot because of stuff blowing around but contact time with the cheato. The more contact time with it the more nutriants it can pull out. You might want to think of a slower pump or even putting a gate valve on the return so you can back it off some. I hope im giving you good info here ![]() |

| Tubeworm | I got a little giant mdqx-sc pushing the inline on my 150g, its at this time a fowlr tank. Honestly at five foot head loss it should be at about 500 gph, considering im using 3/4" pvc instead of the 1" intake/outtake on the pump it might be a little higher. Thers two waterintakes in my tank, and since its gravity fed with little strainers on the ends, im afraid the tank isnt being filtered enough. It is a little louder but im in a 15' x 15' room with a computer in it as well. I also have it hidden under a custom stand with real wood-not 'corkboard' cabinet doors. IMHO its no louder in the cabinet than my whisper 40 (hot) is in my 29g further-matured tank in my br. Dont let the noise steer from purchase though, my guy has a iwaki and its the same noise factor. |
