if the bubble are on the top i dont think its nitrous, although it could. i think its more liely to be trapped O2. cyno does this. hope thats what it is. it can also be dinoflagellate. if so you have a huge fight on your hands. can you get a picture of it. either way you will still need to keep you dissolved organics down, even if your testing shows nothing its there just being taken up soon as they enter the water colum.

thanks prow! i will take a pic tomorrow...tonight i did a 10 gallon water change and i cleaned up everything in my main tank and siphoned out some water from my main and my fuge/sump...hopefully some of what i have might go away...but i will still take a pic tomorrow!

Ditto~ Although I doubt they are dinoflagellates since your tank is newly set up. Probably Cyanobacteria.. has he states above, cyano creates a redish slimy mass that creates tons of o2 bubbles during photosynthesis. Try removing as much as you can by siphoning, netting, etc. By removing this algae, you will also be exporting all the po4 & nitrAtes it has grown from (which is a lot!). Keep up with your water changes too!
