Ok Witty, you were right and it has ruined my day.
Listen to this, it all starts this past Saturday, I went to my LFS and purchased some food and supplies, well im there all the time and they were having a big promotional weekend so they offered me a free item. I, stupidly i might add, chose an arrow crab. Thought he looked cool and the lfs said he was a good algae eater and peacefull. Well all has looked good, and of course i told you yesterday that crabs had been good to me so far. Naturally you said, "famous last words" and oh so right you were.
I went to bed last night and all was well, fish were happy and all eating and my JAWFISH looked great, my roomate even noticed how healthy he looked, well i wake up this morning and notice that there are two crabs in the jawfish hole and sand is flying. Next thing i know the sand stops and the jawfish get dragged out of his hole by the Arrow Crab and a hermit crab, like they planned this or something. Then the arrow crab proceeds to drag the jawfish up over the rocks onto the highest point and he as just standing over the dead fish. Looked like a scene from a movie. Needless to say, i was wicked F#@#?!G Pissed. In a moment of temporary insanity, sorry for all you peace/love people, i grabbed the arrow crab by a leg threw him against the floor and stomped him. I know this is bad but i was really mad. Needless to say i plan on taking all the crabs out this afternoon and taking them back to the LFS.

sorry i doubted you Witty, cuz this really pisses me off, my jawfish had his hole right in the front of the tank an di feel like that will never hapen again, and he was to the point that when i approached the tank he would come out of his hole some instead of hiding in it.

Now i would like to please be a member of the "Crabs are Evil Society"

I think your LFS needs the stomping for saying an Arrow crab is reef safe....

I'm gonna have to make a pledge to join the crabs are evil club now however, after i stuck up for the little guys and everything

Snelly40, first let me say I'm sorry about your fate with crabs and that you should always do extensive research before adding any new critters to your reef tank....

Now, no offence, but the way you described the incident, I would love to see the video of the whole thing.... I can just picture you flinging a little arrow crab across the room hitting the hall on the other side of the room and running over and stomping on it like a bug....

I feel sorry for all involved!
I feel bad for the fish, crab and Snelly40.
The crab was onlly doing what it would naturally do in the wild. Just shouldn't have had to happen in your tank with your jawfish.

I realize the crab was just doing what it naturally does, and i take fault for not researching more and also for just listening to the LFS, i know better than that. I am really bumming, i really did love that jawfish, tons of personality which is rare for them.
I wish i had the scene on video too, it makes me laugh now, and i do feel for the crab, but again that temporary insanity just took over
