Re: The 200+ Club

No, my home is typical Florida. Built on a slab. My wife probably wouldn't like the PVC running across the floor. I'll probably keep the 210 as my reef and use the 155 for her FOWLR. It's just one of the sacrifices I'll have to make. On the bright side, they are both bigger than the 65 gallon that I'm forced to endure in my office. Just don't have the space for anything bigger.

Craig sometimes I'm not sure if that's "champ" or "chump".

Re: The 200+ Club

Can I join? I have 570g total system volume but for now, I only have a 120g reef and a 150g predator. In spite of warnings to not plumb them together, I did. Before adding this huge sump I couldn't get the nitrates below 20 in the reef. These tanks have been plumbed together into the sump now for about 2 months and my nitrates haven't been above 5 since. I also attribute that to doing water changes at least once a week. The huge sump makes water changes a piece of cake. Turn on one light switch for about 2 minutes, then turn it off. Turn another one on until the mixing barrel is empty, then turn it off. Turn on a 3rd switch to refill the mixing barrel, turn it off when the fresh water barrel is empty. Add 16 scoops of IO salt and I'm done.

That changes 42g of water.

Next up, constant water change controlled by my DIY controller.

Re: The 200+ Club

Re: The 200+ Club

Thanks Doni!! You know how long I have been waiting for a 180g and with new house plans on hold for a bit and a trip to Garner I found my new tank to start only a little bigger

Part of the deal with the wife was the others have to come down so it was a trade off but I think in my favor in the end.

Re: The 200+ Club

Congrats Mike!

I bet once you get the 210 set up, you'll be able to drop comments such as "You know, BOTH tanks really look great. It would be a real shame to jeapordize everything by moving it."

Keep everything up and running.

I had forgotten about posting here. My 450 is IN THE HOUSE!
